The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is officially upon us, and the Wisconsin Badgers saw two of their players receive an invite: wide receiver Vinny Anthony and defensive end Mason Reiger.
The defensive linemen were among the first position groups to do the on-field and athletic testing, and Mason Reiger continued to build on a strong offseason. The Badgers star posted a 40-inch vertical jump, good for third amongst all defensive linemen in attendance behind Florida’s George Gumbs Jr. and UCF’s Malachi
Lawrence.
That wasn’t the only place Reiger tested well, as he earned a 9.53 Raw Athletic Score (RAS) out of a possible 10.0.
Reiger’s vertical was in the 98.9th percentile of defensive ends, while his broad jump of 10’5” was in the 95.4th percentile. That broad jump was fifth among defensive ends at the combine behind Penn State’s Dani Dennis-Sutton, Lawrence, Texas Tech’s David Bailey, and Texas Tech’s Romello Height.
Reiger was also solid in the 40-yard dash with a 4.78, but it was the 10-yard split that was more notable. His 1.61-second unofficial 10-yard split was in the 89.9th percentile of defensive ends, speaking once again to his explosiveness off the edge.
Reiger was a standout at the East-West Shrine Bowl earlier this offseason and has continued to build on his draft stock after a strong 2025 season at Wisconsin. A high-motor player, Reiger posted five sacks while recording 45 pressures with a 15.9 percent pass-rush win rate, according to PFF. In true pass sets, that improved to 23.3 percent, showing the type of disruptor he could be off the edge.
He was also second on the team in run stops (14) behind Darryl Peterson, and proved to be fully healthy with 514 snaps this season after missing the entire 2024 campaign due to injury.
He’ll continue to interview with teams at the combine this week, but Reiger remains a top riser at the position in this draft class.
