Former Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez used to try to push Kylian Mbappé to join Los Blancos while he was with him at PSG, the player told El Chiringuito.
Jese left Real Madrid in 2016 to join PSG in a move that was never a success for either party. However, he did train alongside Mbappé before eventually making his departure in 2020, after a series of failed loan spells.
Speaking to the Spanish outlet, Jese talked about how Mbappé used to ask him about Madrid.
He said: “At PSG, I told Mbappé to join
Real Madrid to win the Ballon d’Or.
“When I left, Real Madrid wanted Mbappé, and he asked me, ‘How’s Madrid, how’s the club?’ I said, ‘What’s your dream?’ and he replied, ‘To win the Ballon d’Or.’
“I told him, ‘You have to join Real Madrid, you’re not going to win the Ballon d’Or here [at PSG].’ He said okay.”
Jese is currently at Las Palmas, but has yet to play a single game for the club since coming back in July 2025. It remains to be seen how his latest attempt at top-level football unfolds.
