Travis Scott was involved in one of the most infamous wrestling storylines of 2025 when he aligned himself with The Rock as John Cena began his short-lived heel turn en route to retirement.
One of the more memorable moments involving Scott came at that year’s Elimination Chamber when he struck a prone Cody Rhodes in the face, causing the then-Undisputed WWE Champion to sustain a black eye. He would then go on to interfere in the main event at WrestleMania 41 between Cena and Rhodes before vanishing
from WWE programming without any explanation.
Regarding Scott’s disappearance from WWE, Rhodes for one said he’d like the famous rapper to work with the company again. On top of that, The American Nightmare said that despite what transpired between the two men —including the shiner — he has no heat with Scott.
Rhodes made the comments during an interview with Complex in an episode of its Sneaker Shopping show released on Monday (October 11).
While checking out sneakers together, Complex‘s Joe La Puma asked Cody about a ban he instituted in his house on Travis Scott’s line of shoes. Rhodes revealed that his wife, Brandi Rhodes, never actually adhered to the ban.
“Well, the Travis Scott of it all, the pair that Brandi did wear those, and I don’t think she gave a damn that he put the big old — I don’t even know what we’d call his hand. It was like a frying pan. He’s got a big hand,” Cody said.
He continued: “No, there was never any heat. We love Travis Scott. I’d like to see Travis Scott back doing something with WWE. He’s wonderful.”
Rhodes went on to share that not only did Scott once gift him a pair of sneakers, but he also made sure Rhodes’ watch wasn’t lost after Cena used it as a weapon against him. Cody said the move resulted in a wrestling “bond.”
“The wrestler bond was when I’m getting beat up in Toronto [during Elimination Chamber], and I’m bleeding like a stuck pig, and then Drake’s sitting in the front row watching. I never got to say ‘hi’ to Drake, so ‘hi’ to Drake, because that was a bummer,” Rhodes explained.
“So, I was laying there getting my ass kicked, but my watch came off. I think John [Cena] put it on his hand and he punched me with it, and that was a whole thing. I then went to the training room,” Cody said. “They’re stitching me up, and they’re doing all this stuff. He [Scott] is the one who got the watch. Travis is the one who got the watch, put it in his pocket, and made sure it got back to me.
“That’s man stuff. That’s pro. So I always appreciated that greatly.”
