The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Minnesota Gophers on the road on Tuesday, with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 P.M. at Williams Arena.
Wisconsin is coming off a huge 91-88 upset of the No. 2 Michigan
Wolverines, marking the biggest upset of the college basketball season so far. They’re now on a two-game win streak, facing a Minnesota team that has started off fairly well under new head coach Niko Medved.
The Gophers were inconsistent to start the year, going 4-4 with three consecutive losses. But, they’ve rebounded nicely with wins over No. 22 Indiana, Northwestern, and No. 19 Iowa, and now sit at 10-6 with a 3-2 record in the Big Ten.
The Badgers, meanwhile, are 11-5 with a 3-2 record in the Big Ten as well. Heading into Tuesday’s game, forward Austin Rapp is questionable after missing the past few games due to injury. His return would provide a spark for a bench that has been limited in the frontcourt, giving some rest for starters Aleksas Bieliauskas and Nolan Winter.
Wisconsin is only a 1.5-point favorite on Tuesday, which kind of surprises me, given the last two games with wins over Michigan and UCLA. I understand they’re on the road, but I expected them to get a few more points of an advantage.
