According to a report from Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia
) , the release clause on Kennet Eichhorn is lower than expected, but it will be more expensive to get him.How is that possible? Sport Bild explains:
Kennet Eichhorn’s release clause is lower than initially thought. It is worth around €9m for Bundesliga clubs. The player’s camp is demanding a signing fee worth around €10m. They argue that Eichhorn’s market value is €20m, so the total package is still entirely in line with the market.
Borussia Dortmund
are unwilling to pay the €20m package and have withdrawn from the race. Bayern and Leverkusen are not deterred by the price and are still after the 16-year old. Meanwhile, Liverpool are actively searching the market for a loan club to loan out Eichhorn, since they can’t move him to England before he turns 18. The player has yet to make a decision.
This is not totally unexpected as Eichhorn needs to capitalize on this move. Based on potential, it is a still a steal, but like any deal does carry a certain amount of risk. As Earl Nightingale once said, “You can measure opportunity with the same yardstick that measures the risk involved. They go together.”
Some recent reports indicated that Bayern Munich is in the final three clubs — with Liverpool and Manchester City — for Eichhorn.
