It’s time to switch gears and have a bit of Carabao in our cups as Chelsea take on Lincoln City in the third round of the competition. The Imps may be only in the third division, but they certainly could cause a bit mischief, especially at home. They’ve lost just one game all season so far (of 12 played in all competitions) and are unbeaten in their last ten.
Still, Chelsea will be the overwhelming favorites (regardless of lineup), and this game should be a good chance to get back on track after failing
to win any of our last three games (all away) and squandering away all the good vibes from the end of last season and the summer that followed.
While our injury situation remains unchanged, Cole Palmer’s groin concern flared up over the weekend once again, while João Pedro has been running on fumes for the last few games already. This may be our best chance to rotate the squad even if that presents an increased risk of suffering a shock defeat.
Robert Sánchez will be serving his one-match suspension for his sending off against Manchester United.
