Jonas Urbig produced a sublime performance to shut out a resolute Wolfsburg to earn a hard-fought 1-0 win away to the relegation threatened team; Michael Olise scored the lone goal of the match, with a finish that Arjen Robben would be proud of. Speaking after the match, Urbig reflected on the mood after crashing out of the Champions League by a narrow margin and his own performance in this match.
“Of course, Wednesday hurt. But we didn’t have much time to think about Paris and we had to move on quickly,”
Urbig said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “Today was a difficult away game and we had to move on and focus”
The 23-year-old goalkeeper’s performance was also recognized by his peers, particularly Manuel Neuer. “He [Neuer] congratulated me for the good performance and said he was happy for me,” Urbig said.
