Everton have completed the signing of Chelsea’s Tyrique George on loan for the rest of the 2025-26 season. The England Under-21 international is a versatile forward who can play anywhere across the frontline, and has made 11 appearances this season, four in the Premier League, four in the Champions League and three times in the League Cup. He’s scored three times in the latter two competitions, with one assist in just under 500 minutes of game time.
His loan deal includes a clause to buy the player
outright in the summer, and appears to be a pretty risk-free trial to see if he can work out on Merseyside. Fulham were close to buying the player on deadline day in the summer, and had a £22m bid accepted by Chelsea, so he shouldn’t cost too much more. Everton insider The Bobble had tweeted that the Blues’ transfer committee had negotiated a pretty favourable deal-to-buy.
In all he has featured for the Chelsea first team 37 times in a variety of domestic and international competitions, including the Club World Cup, scoring six goals with six assists in about 1,600 minutes of playing time. This season he found himself on the fringes of the side especially since the departure of Enzo Maresca with current manager Liam Rosenior indicating he’s willing to let him leave.
George, who turns 20 in two days time, was on Merseyside earlier today to complete his medical ahead of the move to Everton, and the club had to submit a deal sheet as the transfer documentation stretched past the transfer deadline.
The youngster spoke to evertontv about joining the Blues –
“I’m really excited to be here and to enjoy this massive club. I just can’t wait to get started. The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show. I want to be exciting and I want to impress them.
“The gaffer, David Moyes, was another reason [I wanted to join]. He’s an amazing manager who has coached so many players, like Wayne Rooney, and players like that. I’ve had a brief conversation with him and he’s an amazing person as well.
“I just want to enjoy it, learn under him and improve.”
Manager David Moyes had this to say about the young winger –
“We are pleased to have signed Tyrique on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
“Tyrique is a versatile forward who can play all across the front line. I hope he will settle quickly into our squad, and the support from our fans will definitely help him feel at home. We are looking forward to working with him.”
