Ousmane Dembele won the 2025 Ballon d’Or on Monday night, seeing off competition from Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to be crowned the best player in the world.
The final points tallies have now been revealed
by France Football and show that Dembele finished first and was over 300 points ahead of Yamal.
Dembele had a score of 1380 points, Yamal was second with 1059 and Vitinha came third with 703 points.
Yamal was quick to congratulate Dembele on his win afterwards, while his manager Hansi Flick backed the youngster to bounce back from the disappointment.
“Yesterday I spoke with him and he is fine. It is a motivation not to have won the Ballon d’Or for the next few years,“ he told reporters at a press conference.
“Dembélé deserved it. Lamine has accepted it willingly, he is motivated to prove that he is good. Maybe next season he will be a candidate. I value having many candidates in the team.”
Barcelona and PSG are set to meet next week in the Champions League. Yamal will be fit for the match, but Dembele is expected to sit this one out due to injury.
