The Big 12 Conference released its end-of-season awards and the TCU Horned Frogs, conference champions for a second straight season, are well represented. Notre Dame transfer Olivia Miles was not only named a unanimous First-Team selection, but she was named both the Big 12’s Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Marta Suarez was named a First-Team selection, while Donovyn Hunter received an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
Miles is averaging a career-high 20.1 points per game along with 6.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.9 steals. Suarez, a unanimous First-Team player, is averaging career-bests in points per game (17.1), field goal percentage (.480) and 3-point field goal percentage (.390) along with 7.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Hunter, who was also named to the All-Big 12 Defensive Team, is averaging 11.6 points while contributing 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Hunter is shooting a career best 47 percent from the field in her second year at TCU.
Miles is the second TCU player in two seasons to sweep the Big 12 Player and Newcomer of the Year awards. Former Louisville and LSU guard Hailey Van Lith, in her lone season at TCU, earned both honors during the 2024-25 season in which the Horned Frogs advanced to the Elite Eight. Miles also became the fourth one-and-done transfer point guard in five years to be named conference player of the year under coach Mark Campbell.
TCU, which beat Baylor to win the conference title outright, will open the Big 12 tournament as the No. 1 seed.
