Spain are safely into the last 16 of World Cup 2026 after beating Austria on Thursday in Los Angeles thanks to two goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and a Pedro Porro header.
La Roja now go on to face either Croatia or Portugal in the last 16, with the two sides facing off later today in Toronto.
Here’s how the last 16 is shaping up right now:
- Canada v Morocco
- Paraguay v France
- Spain v Portugal or Croatia
- USA v Belgium
- Brazil v Norway
- Mexico v England
- Switzerland or Algeria v Colombia or Ghana
- Argentina or Cabo Verde v Australia or Egypt
If Spain beat Portugal or Croatia in the last 16 they will face the winners of the tie between USA & Belgium. The co-hosts have enjoyed a strong tournament so far but
will be without Folarin Balogun against Belgium after he was sent off in their win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
