The Green Bay Packers have announced their inactives for their Thursday Night Football contest against the Carolina Panthers. It was assumed that the Packers would make five scratches today, but the addition of practice squad edge defender (really a special teamer) Arron Mosby added an extra number for Green Bay.
Did that mean that cornerback Keisean Nixon or receiver Matthew Golden, who were both questionable coming into today’s game, would be a late drop? No, instead, it was tight end Jonnu Smith
who was added on top of the expected scratches.
Below are the players who won’t be suiting up for Green Bay:
- RB Kaleb Johnson
- TE Jonnu Smith
- C Sean Rhyan
- RG Travis Glover
- OL Donovan Jennings
- LB Zaire Franklin
With the movement on the offensive line, the players up for today’s game are Jordan Morgan, Aaron Banks, John Williams, Kevin Zeitler, Anthony Belton, Laken Tomlinson, Jager Burton and Mekhi Becton.
The Packers will also only have three tight ends for the first time all season, and it’s interesting that the team chose to keep Josh Whyle, who has been contributing on special teams a bit recently, over Smith in the pass-catching role.
Pay attention to Green Bay’s line of scrimmage early on in this game, as we’re going to get a couple of new looks from them.
