Jürgen Klopp has certainly not been afraid to shake things up with his first Germany squad. With 44 players spread across two squads for the upcoming Nations League matches, there are plenty of familiar names — but also several players who could use this opportunity to announce themselves on the international stage.
That makes this a fun question for Germany supporters: which longshot player are you hoping breaks through?
There are several intriguing options.
Mika Baur is one of the more unexpected
selections after moving from Paderborn to Celtic this summer. Felix Keidel has earned his opportunity after helping Elversberg, while Bambasé Conté gives Klopp another young attacking option from Hoffenheim.
Then there is Said El Mala, who was already knocking on the door after an impressive Bundesliga campaign with Köln. Brajan Gruda is another name worth watching in an attacking group that has plenty of room for someone to force his way into the conversation.
And if we are talking about true longshots, Noahkai Banks is particularly fascinating. The Augsburg defender is only 19 and is eligible to represent both Germany and the United States.
Klopp has opened the door. Now we get to see who kicks it down.
