For most of the year, we’ve gotten some good matchups out of “Thursday Night Football.” Bills vs. Lions, Falcons vs. Packers, Steelers vs. Browns, Seahawks vs. Broncos, and Patriots vs. Bears were all good games—at least on paper.
Unfortunately, Week 9 it appears Amazon’s luck has run out.
While Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars looked like a good matchup before the year started, the league couldn’t have picked a worse week for putting this game on primetime. The Ravens are plagued with terrible
quarterback luck this year. For the second time, Lamar Jackson has suffered a significant injury, and his backup, Tyler Huntley, is now out for the year after suffering an injury of his own last week.
So this week, the Ravens are turning to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to make his first NFL start on a short week against the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars—who also have the second-best scoring defense in football, allowing just 15.9 points per game.
It looks like this could be a stinker of a game, but if you’re interested in our thoughts on it, or want to chat during some NFL action, you’ve come to the right place.
