The Long Island Nets roster continues to take shape after officially acquiring DJ Rodman, son of Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman. The Long Island Nets acquired Rodman’s rights from the Greensboro Swarm in exchange for the rights to guard Alex Schumacher and forward Jahlil White.
Rodman stands at 6-foot-6 and has appeared in 70 career G League games across two seasons. Before playing for the Swarm, he played for the Maine Celtics and Capital City Go-Go. He has averaged 6.7 points and 4.1 rebounds
in 19.3 minutes per game, putting up 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game over 39 contests for Greensboro alone. He shot 50.5% from the field and an impressive 46.5% of his shots from 3-point range.
Rodman has raised the tide wherever he’s been, appearing in the G League postseason in each of his two seasons. Last year, Rodman won the NBA G League Championship with the Swarm, getting to hoist the trophy over his head in the final game of the year.
Before he began his pro career, the Newport Beach native played his final collegiate seasons at USC in 2023-24. He played his first four years of college basketball at Washington State University. His best shooting year came in his final year of college ball where he connected on 44% of his shots.
Rodman averaged 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 27.5 minutes per game over 32 games, 28 of which were starts, as a graduate student for the USC Trojans. The year prior, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 31 games, 30 starts, as a senior at Washington State in 2022-23. His senior year at Washington State also saw him shoot 42.5 percent from three-point range in conference play, second-best among all Pac-12 players. So, if he can get back to this, he could fit right in on the Long Island squad.
As for who Long Island gave up, Alex Schumacher appeared in 16 NBA G League regular season games for Long Island last season. He averaged 6.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 17.5 minutes per game. He took some time off to go play national ball in his home country of Switzerland during the season. Schumacher was first acquired by Long Island via a trade with the Valley Suns on January 23rd, 2026.
On the other hand, Jahlil White appeared in seven NBA G League regular season games for Long Island last season. He was acquired from the available player pool on February 23rd, 2026. He averaged 5.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 16.3 minutes per contest.
With no assignments listed, the Long Island Nets roster looks like this:
- PG: Dwight Murray Jr./Tidjiane Dioumass
- SG: Dion Brown/Isaiah Wong/Aaron Scott
- SF: Chaney Johnson (two-way)/Ben Humrichous/Jonathan Pierre
- PF: Grant Nelson (two-way)/Tyler Bilodeau (two-way)/DJ Rodman
- C: Dain Dainja/Nick PringlE
Could Rodman eventually turn into a two-way prospect for the team? We’ll have to wait and see. But one thing we know for sure is that this is looking to be another exciting season for the Long Island Nets.
The season kicks off for the Long Island Nets on the road on Friday, November 6th as the face off with the Greensboro Swarm. Their home opener is one week later, on Friday, November 13th, against the College Park Skyhawks. Both games tip off at 7:00 p.m. ET.
