The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday morning that they’ve signed former New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad.
The Giants originally signed Beckham to their 90-man roster back on June 1st, and while the ball didn’t find Beckham in games, he looked solid in practice and pre-season. He ultimately made the Giants’ initial 53-man roster after final cut-downs.
However, he only saw 20 snaps over the first three games with the Giants before being released prior to
Week 4. Beckham remained a fan favorite in New York, receiving ovations every time he got on the field, but his second stint as a Giant ended with no catches.
It was reported that Beckham had no interest in signing with the Giants’ practice squad and wanted to go somewhere where he had a better chance to play. The Vikings are looking for a spark on offense, and head coach Kevin O’Connell is familiar with Beckham from their time together with the Los Angeles Rams.
