The latest play of Champions League football has come and gone. Many of us are interested in Tottenham’s position (currently fifth), but there’s another matter I like to point in your direction.
That is
Marseille’s tifo, which fans unveiled against Liverpool on Wednesday:
That’s one hell of a tifo.
The four gents are the Fab Four – aka The Beatles – the city of Liverpool’s greatest export. Here they’re holding a newspaper that media outlets pointed out translates to something like “History repeats itself”, which is a reference to Marseille triumphing over the Reds in the 2004 UEFA Cup.
Liverpool ended up winning on Wednesday 3-0, but do we really care about the result when Marseille lifted up a tifo this good?
I personally love the black-and-white depiction of the Fab Four against the in-colour print edition of “Le Provecal”. The colour of the newspaper really splashes. Plus Ringo, George, John and Paul all look pretty dang good there.
As far as tifos go, that’s one of the better ones I’ve seen lately. It’s not as good as the one Sunderland did way back in August, but it’s still pretty dang good.
