Bayern Munich appears to have avoided another injury headache, with sporting director Max Eberl offering a positive update on Konrad Laimer following the midfielder’s latest setback.
Eberl was asked about Laimer’s condition and indicated that the injury does not appear to be serious.
“It doesn’t seem to be too bad. Nothing serious,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
That will come as welcome news for Vincent Kompany, particularly with Bayern Munich entering another busy stretch of the season.
Laimer has become an important piece of Kompany’s squad thanks to his versatility, with the Austrian capable of contributing both in midfield and at right-back when needed.
While Eberl’s comments suggest that Laimer could avoid an extended absence, Bayern Munich will presumably take a cautious approach before determining when he can return to full training and match action. The club has plenty of fixtures ahead, including Bundesliga and Champions League commitments, making squad depth increasingly important.
For now, the most important takeaway is that Laimer’s injury does not appear to be a major concern. Bayern Munich will hope the initial assessment proves accurate and that the Austrian is back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
