No words for this…
Many here have commented over and over about this. The price we are paying now for winning two UCLs in a non sustainable way.
In 21/22 season, they signed Camavinga basically in the final days of the transfer windows, after Mbappe deal didn’t happen.
One can argue that winning twice with a bad squad doesn’t suddenly make you more likely to win with an even worse one… lol!!
In 21/22, we did not have an injury crisis. Militao and Alaba was fully fit. Nacho was there, too. Carvajal played most games. Mendy was available and could help lock the defense (despite his lack of attacking presence).
Also… who is going tell the board that we had Kroos and Modric in these years? And did they apparently forget we won in 21/22 being dominated, completely relying on miraculous comebacks?
No immediate solutions
While we read we need new players, we also see the following: “Real Madrid are NOT involved in any pre-contract talks with any free agent for this summer.”
And:
Sources at different levels inside Real Madrid all shared the same opinion: the club NEEDED to strengthen during the January transfer window. All except the BOARD, who refused to budge, and rejected every player that was offered without considering it. They repeat the same arguments each time: the market is inflated in January, the few good options available are too expensive, and the squad is good enough right now to compete for the Champions League and La Liga without any need for signings
