The Los Angeles Rams beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a final score of 34-7 on Sunday Night Football and L.A. came out absolutely dominating in the first half by putting up 31 points, and they cruised
in the second half and never allowed Tampa back in the game.
Sean McVay has his team coming out firing on all cylinders in a game that L.A. needed to win if they wanted to sit in first place of the NFC, and they delivered for their coach and for the fans.
Matthew Stafford threw two passing touchdowns to Davantae Adams, another to Colby Parkinson and Kobie Durant tacked on a score for the defense as well. Add in that Harrison Mevis was perfect on the day and this may have been L.A.’s best game of the season.
A storyline to watch is that Mevis might be L.A.’s kicker the rest of the year after hitting four extra points and two field goals in this one.
When the Rams led 31-7 at the half, it absolutely seemed like the Rams would win this one to move to 9-2 and first place in the NFC, but they had to finish, and closing games out in the NFL can be the hardest part.
The Rams did exactly that, they closed out their win against what has been one of the better teams in the NFC and league.
Unfortunately for Baker Mayfield, he didn’t return after halftime due to injury.
For L.A., there wasn’t too much drama in this one, they came out swinging, they took a big lead, they held a big lead, and now they are the top team in the NFC. Their offense was on point, their defense was relentless and their special teams was good. It was a complete win.
Through 12 weeks, the Rams are doing great, but the trick will be closing out the season strong.
L.A. gets to go for their seventh win in a row in Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
