Kane getting closer to deal, but there is no rush (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich and star striker Harry Kane are still inching closer toward an agreement, but neither side is in a big hurry. Since mostly everything is in alignment at this stage, everyone is calm:
✅ It is TRUE: Harry Kane’s contract talks with Bayern Munich are moving forward. It’s very positive at the moment. We mentioned previously that there were some productive talks before the international break. I’ve heard that these have been going on since, with the two parties discussing numbers and the contract.
I’ve been getting positive vibes from both sides. Nobody thinks things will fall apart; it’s simply a question of when, not if, it will all work out. I think things could move very quickly with Kane returning to Bayern.
But, of course, they’re happy to take their time, as no one thinks either party will make a surprise move in negotiations. It will normally be a contract until 2029. There are some ideas about the option of an additional year. In the last column, we mentioned a potential exit clause being included in the contract. But at the moment, I think there’s no question that the future of Harry Kane is very much at Bayern Munich.
The lack of hostility in these talks has been refreshing. When each side knows what it wants, lays its terms out, and the talks are productive, it makes an enormous difference.
For Kane, this will be the final mega-deal for his career. He still might get a handsome salary when he decides to leave Bayern Munich for a return to the Premier League or even MLS, but this contract will pave the way for future generations of the Kane family to live the glamorous life (a little throwback to the late 80s for you).
Mbappé considering his options? (ESPN)
It is getting hard to remember what Real Madrid was like without some kind of drama, isn’t it? In this episode of As Real Madrid Turns, Kylian Mbappé is rumored to be unhappy and contemplating a future in England:
Kylian Mbappé’s future at Real Madrid has been cast into doubt, says L’Equipe. Mbappé, 27, was injured playing for France during the international break, but posted clips on social media of him cycling in Switzerland last week, and he was reportedly reprimanded by Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. The striker has three years left on his contract and, having failed to win a major trophy in the last two seasons, is now reported to be considering his options. Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with him in the past, but Madrid would not consider offers less than €200 million.
Mbappé is a game-changer for any club. Surely, if this is legitimate, Liverpool and Arsenal would bend over backwards to make the deal happen.
Gunners chasing Nusa, Yildiz? (Caught Offside)
Speaking of Arsenal, the Gunners are rumored to have interest in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa and former Bayern Munich academy star Kenan Yildiz, who is now at Juventus:
Arsenal are already laying the groundwork for another attacking addition in January, with Antonio Nusa and Kenan Yildiz emerging as two of the most exciting names on their radar.
Mikel Arteta’s side strengthened considerably during the summer, but there is still a feeling that another explosive attacker could give the champions an extra edge in the title race.
Milan could be taking another run at Endrick (ESPN)
AC Milan could be looking to make a big move for Real Madrid’s Endrick:
AC Milan are planning to make another attempt to sign Real Madrid striker Endrick after being unable to bring him in during the summer, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. Madrid boss Jose Mourinho had initially refused to let the 20-year-old leave, but he has made just one substitute appearance this season that lasted four minutes. Milan’s main competition from within Italy for the Brazil international is Roma, while Aston Villa were also unsuccessful in their efforts to bring him in last summer.
Bayern to lose Prescott? (BuLiNews)
With Jonas Urbig looking to be the successor to Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich, youth goalkeeper Leonard Prescott could be looking at a future elsewhere:
With 17-year-old Leonard Prescott’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2027, Bayern Munich are determined to prevent the young goalkeeper from leaving on a free transfer.
According to the Sky podcast “Mia san vier”, talks are currently underway between the two parties over a contract extension.
However, negotiations are proving complicated, as the German champions can’t offer Prescott a clear path to first-team football, with Jonas Urbig seen as the club’s long-term No. 1.
Bayern on outside of Gabriel pursuit (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich appears to be on the outside looking in of the JJ Gabriel race:
JJ Gabriel has, indeed, turned 16, so the negotiations will now start. PSG made the next move, pushing to have talks with his representatives at Epic Sports (Ali Barat’s agency). However, I get a feeling that the Spanish clubs, specifically Real Madrid and Barcelona, are ahead at the front of the queue. Of course, there’s still the big argument in favour of Bayern Munich. You can see that many young players are getting minutes and opportunities under Vincent Kompany.
To be clear, Gabriel’s agents are aware of this, so FC Bayern still have a chance, even if they’re not pushing hard at this point in time. They’re watching what the others are doing. But they are still in the group of four clubs that are involved in the transfer poker for this teenager. I think JJ Gabriel will become a great player. However, when you’re talking about Lennart Karl and Jamal Musiala, you can see it’s not so easy as well for a new player coming into the mix – there is competition! Still, I hope Bayern Munich can get firmly involved in this deal. At the moment, they’re not frontrunners.
Gabriel might be a terrific talent, but Bayern Munich will stay prudent here. If the price gets too high, the Bavarians will recuse themselves from this pursuit.
