With the summer transfer window now closed, all Premier League clubs had to submit their 25-man squad lists last night. Each club had to submit a maximum of 25 players with at least eight of them being considered ‘homegrown’.
A homegrown player is defined as someone registered with an English or Welsh club for three full seasons before their 21st birthday. Players under the age of 21 (born on or after January 1, 2007, for the 2026-27 season) are not included in the 25-man squad list, allowing clubs
to have a larger number of young players who are eligible to play in the Premier League.
After all the turnover in the playing squad over the summer, Everton are going into the new campaign lighter than they have ever been, with their submitted list of 19 players including three goalkeepers.
