Look, the Braves are nothing if not loyal… for the most part. One thing they’ve loved to do in recent years? Bring back old friends for a last, or even not-so-last, hurrah. Off the top of my head, I can
think of getting Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson back at the 2024 Trade Deadline, the seemingly never-ending saga of Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall came back multiple times, and even someone like Jesse Chavez seemingly had his presence on the team written in the stars until he eventually retired.
I look across the list of minor free agents at this point and boy, there’s reunion potential. Kyle Wright was traded to the Royals, didn’t pitch in a major league game for them, and is a free agent as of a few days ago. The Brewers released Tucker Davidson one day after Wright hit the free agent rolls; he was okay in the KBO last year. Michael Soroka was decent as a starter last year and our collective love for him burns hotter than the sun.
Sean Newcomb (nah)? Shelby Miller? Kolby Allard? Does Griffin Canning count? Rafael Monter—hahaha no. Kirby Yates, Lucas Sims, Gio Urshela, Luke Jackson again… one time Braves’ minor league curiosity Dylan Moore?
Anyway, I’m done listing names but am nowhere near scratching the bottom of the “one-time Braves” surface. Which reunions do you think will happen this offseason or over the course of the season?
