By far, the biggest shake-up this week for the Green Bay Packers’ usage came at the defensive tackle position. It’s something we probably should have expected after Green Bay’s last game. We’ll get into
that later, but let’s take you through the full position-by-position breakdown of which Packers got to see action against the Cincinnati Bengals.
As a reminder, all snap counts are just for offense and defense, with special teams snaps in parentheses.
Quarterback
- Jordan Love: 60 snaps
- Malik Willis: 0
Running Back
- Josh Jacobs: 47
- Emanuel Wilson: 11
- Chris Brooks: 5 (14 SPT)
Since Week 3, Emanuel Wilson has out-snapped blocking back Chris Brooks at the running back position. It’ll be an interesting decision that the team will have to make whenever MarShawn Lloyd comes off the injured reserve. Will they keep four backs or just three? If it’s just three, will they move on from Wilson, a ball-carrier, or Brooks, who played just short of three times as many special teams snaps as any other offensive player in the Bengals game?
Wide Receiver
- Romeo Doubs: 51 (3 SPT)
- Matthew Golden: 42 (1 SPT)
- Malik Heath: 27
- Dontayvion Wicks: 21
- Savion Williams: 7 (4 SPT)
No, Malik Heath didn’t jump Dontayvion Wicks on the depth chart. Remember, Wicks dropped out of the game with an ankle injury. So far, there have been no updates to his status going into Week 7.
Tight End
- Tucker Kraft: 55
- Luke Musgrave: 21
- John FitzPatrick: 11
- Ben Sims: 1 (4 SPT)
While he’s only recorded seven receiving yards over the last two games, Luke Musgrave has played 46 offensive snaps over those contests. Before then, he and John FitzPatrick had been pretty neck and neck, snaps-wise. No tight end played special teams this week, other than fourth-stringer Ben Sims on the kickoff return unit. Sims also made his offensive debut for the 2025 season on Sunday.
Offensive Line
- Elgton Jenkins (C): 60 (5 SPT)
- Zach Tom (RT): 60 (5 SPT)
- Aaron Banks (LG): 60 (5 SPT)
- Rasheed Walker (LT): 60 (5 SPT)
- Jordan Morgan (RG): 49 (5 SPT)
- Sean Rhyan (RG): 11 (5 SPT)
- Darian Kinnard: 0 (5 SPT)
- Donovan Jennings: 0
For the first time all year, the Packers’ preferred starting offensive line actually played a full game together. The team rotated Jordan Morgan and Sean Rhyan at right guard, but the start and most of the snaps actually went to Morgan, not Rhyan, this week.
Defensive End
- 56: Micah Parsons
- 39: Rashan Gary (3 SPT)
- 21: Lukas Van Ness (6 SPT)
- 14: Kingsley Enagbare (8 SPT)
- 13: Barryn Sorrell (8 SPT)
Following Lukas Van Ness’ foot injury, Kingsley Enagabare and Barryn Sorrell had to step up in the lineup. What’s interesting is that Rashan Gary continues to miss about two of five plays on defense, even when Van Ness was out of the game. The only other player who plays that few snaps on defense as a starter is defensive tackle Colby Wooden.
Defensive Tackle
- 51: Karl Brooks (9 SPT)
- 30: Colby Wooden (4 SPT)
- 19: Warren Brinson (4 SPT)
- 5: Nazir Stackhouse
Here’s the big story this week. First of all, Karl Brooks played 60 (!) snaps, including his special teams reps. For perspective, Gary played just 42 as a full-time starting defensive lineman who also contributes on the kick block unit. Just an insane amount of plays for a defensive tackle who wasn’t even a Week 1 starter.
Secondly, Warren Brinson outsnapped Nazir Stackhouse about four-to-one in this game, following Stackhouse’s 27-snap performance against the Dallas Cowboys. In that game, Stackhouse was the lowest-graded Packer for any individual game this year, according to Pro Football Focus. Don’t be surprised if, when Devonte Wyatt comes back, Stackhouse is a healthy scratch while Brinson is brought up to be the team’s fourth defensive tackle. In his NFL debut, the team sure seemed like they trusted Brinson more than Stackhouse.
Linebacker
- 62: Edgerrin Cooper (5 SPT)
- 62: Quay Walker (4 SPT)
- 6: Isaiah McDuffie (20 SPT)
- 0: Ty’Ron Hopper (16 SPT)
- 0: Nick Niemann (16 SPT)
Pretty much what we’ve seen all season here. The only note I’d add is that the Packers played their nickel defense on over 90 percent of plays in this game.
Cornerback
- 62: Keisean Nixon (4 SPT)
- 62: Nate Hobbs (4 SPT)
- 17: Carrington Valentine (10 SPT)
- 0: Bo Melton (1 offense, 15 SPT)
Keisean Nixon and Nate Hobbs were the full-time starting cornerbacks in this game, but Hobbs, coming off a concussion, kicked into the slot when Javon Bullard left with a concussion. In his place, Carrington Valentine stepped up at outside cornerback.
Bo Melton has now played three offensive snaps this year but zero on defense.
Safety
- 62: Evan Williams (8 SPT)
- 62: Xavier McKinney (10 SPT)
- 39: Javon Bullard (8 SPT)
- 0: Zayne Anderson (16 SPT)
- 0: Kitan Oladapo (11 SPT)
Again, there’s not much to note at the safety position, as Evan Williams has been the starter opposite Xavier McKinney since Week 2. Bullard played the slot role until his injury.
