The New Orleans Saints will open the 2026 NFL regular season on the road against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT.
The Saints finished the 2025 season with a 6-11 record and enter their second season under head coach Kellen Moore with plenty of optimism and new additions to their roster. With quarterback Tyler Shough emerging as a solid leader both on and off the field, New Orleans hopes to make the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
Meanwhile,
the Detroit Lions are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2025 season, finishing 9-8 and missing the playoffs after going 15-2 and earning the NFC’s No. 1 seed in 2024.
According to FanDuel, the Saints are currently 6.5-point underdogs against the Lions, with an over/under of 49.5 points. However, those odds could move as kickoff approaches.
