When you’re growing up and you have a love of basketball, at some point, when you’re playing by yourself, you have the dream: “three seconds left…Smith brings the ball up court…he fakes left, goes right, lets the ball go and…yesssssss! Smith hits the game winner! It’s all over! Smith came through in the clutch!”
Everyone has that dream. Mike Krzyzewski had it. Jayson Tatum had it. Cooper Flagg had it too.
Everyone.Has.That.Dream.
That is the dream but truthfully it rarely happens. Well, it just did
for former Blue Devil Mark Mitchell.
Now playing for Missouri, the Tigers were down two to Oklahoma with 4.8 to play.
Mitchell got the ball, dribbled it upcourt and nailed a long three to put the game away for Mizzou.
What a sweet moment for him. Missouri fans will be talking about this for quite a while.
