The card for Saturday Night’s Main Event is set, while the lineup for Clash In Italy is starting to feel WrestleMania-sized after a huge night on Raw.
First up is Saturday Night’s Main Event, which heads to Fort Wayne this Saturday. The show features three title matches, along with two more bouts involving champions.
Saturday Night’s Main Event – May 23
WWE Intercontinental Championship Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
Page pinned Penta in a tag team match to earn this opportunity — now he looks to do it again with gold on the line. On Raw, “All
Ego” said he’d be “the last man to leave the ring Saturday Night’s Main Event with the Intercontinental Championship.” With Penta on the show poster, fans are looking at the likely main event.
World Tag Team Championship: Logan Paul & Austin Theory (c) vs. The Street Profits
The Street Profits targeted the tag champs upon returning to WWE after a long absence. But they have a tall mountain to climb to win gold. Besides Paul and Theory, the Profits may have to contend with the rest of The Vision — Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman — a meddling Seth Rollins, and some internal strife over Rollins to become champions.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Paige and Brie Bella (c) vs. The Irresistible Forces
The unlikely duo of Paige and Brie Bella shocked three other teams to win the titles at WrestleMania 42. To cement their run, they’ll have to beat the former champs, Lash Legend and Nia Jax, who put the makeshift team on notice on SmackDown.
Non-Title: Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
After starting her WWE main roster career with two straight losses, this is Ruca’s chance to show she belongs while potentially earning a future title match against Lynch.
Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, & Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, Michin, & B-Fab
Jade Cargill has a chance to take out two birds (Ripley, Flair) in one match while validating her request for a rematch at WWE Women’s Champ Ripley.
Clash In Italy – May 31
Tribal Combat for the World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Jacob Fatu was supposed to acknowledge Roman Reigns after losing to the OTC at Backlash. Instead, Fatu assaulted Reigns and the Usos, who got their pound of flesh from “The Samoan Werewolf” on Raw. Fed up, Fatu threw down the gauntlet for Tribal Combat. The Tribal Chief accepted. Now, something’s got to give.
Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther
Gunther took the hard way to get here, cashing in a favor by Paul Heyman to get this match, only to fool around and have to go through Royce Keys to get it. Still, he’s here now, and he looks to do what he failed to do two years ago at Crown Jewel: beat Rhodes with a title on the line.
Teased: Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
Lesnar seemingly retired after losing to Femi at WrestleMania. Clearly, “The Beast” must not have enjoyed a life of Canasta and early dinners at Denny’s. So, what did he do? He attacked “The Ruler” on Raw and has now signed for a rematch in Turin, Italy. The only thing left to do is for Femi to put his John Hancock on the dotted line.
