The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Ball State Cardinals on Tuesday, looking to improve to 3-0 after back-to-back wins to kick off the season last week.
Wisconsin opened things with a 96-64 win over
Campbell last Monday at the Kohl Center, using a 29-2 run to end the game after a fairly close battle over the first 30 minutes.
Then, they blew out Northern Illinois, dominating the start of the game with a 20-5 run that resulted in a 97-72 victory, as the offense thrived once again.
In both games, Wisconsin showcased glimpses of its potential, but also showed a lot of room for improvement on both sides of the ball, which head coach Greg Gard acknowledged the team will get better at.
So far, John Blackwell and Nick Boyd have led the team, averaging 23 points per game apiece, while Nolan Winter comes third with 14.5 points per game. Austin Rapp has also averaged double-figures, putting up 10.5 points per game.
Wisconsin is shooting 50 percent from the field, 80 percent from the free-throw line, and 33.9 percent from deep over its first two games. It’ll take on a Ball State team that beat Louisiana and Mansfield in its first two games of the season to start off 2-0.
Ball State has four players averaging double figures, with guard Armoni Ziegler leading the way at 16.5 points per game.
