Ohio State vs. Miami — Cotton Bowl Classic
Prediction: Ohio State Wears Down Miami
The Buckeyes bring their trademark depth and explosive offensive balance to the Cotton Bowl, facing a Miami Hurricanes team that has shown flashes of brilliance but struggles to sustain scoring against elite defenses. Expect Ohio State to control the clock, dominate the trenches, and force Miami into tough downs and distances. Our prediction: the Hurricanes simply can’t keep pace with OSU’s efficiency and firepower for four quarters.
Texas Tech vs. Oregon — Orange Bowl
Prediction: A War in the Trenches, We Are Split on the Result
Two high-octane programs collide in what promises to be one of the most evenly matched quarterfinals. Texas Tech’s top-notch pass and run defense takes on Oregon’s top-ranked passing and rushing offense, creating a clash that will likely be decided in the trenches despite the stellar quarterback play of Dante Moore and Behren Morton and the talented skill players on both teams. Every yard will matter, and neither team will give an inch, making this one of the most physically and tactically intense battles of the weekend.
Indiana vs. Alabama — Rose Bowl
Prediction: Indiana Calms The Crimson Tide in California Thriller
The top-seeded Hoosiers headline a marquee Rose Bowl matchup against an Alabama squad that played at this venue two years ago. While both teams boast strong offenses, Indiana’s defense and quarterback play give them the edge, especially against a shaky Alabama run game. They’re faster, deeper, and more disciplined, setting the stage for an epic showdown where Indiana can stifle Alabama’s stars while controlling tempo and field position.
Georgia vs. Ole Miss — Sugar Bowl
Prediction: Dawgs Defeat Rebels in Regular Season Rematch
Georgia’s combination of line dominance and a power-run game should overwhelm Ole Miss. Expect the Bulldogs to control both sides of the ball, shutting down Ole Miss’s offensive schemes with man coverage and carving up the Rebels in the trenches. On both defense and offense, Georgia has the tools to turn this into a statement playoff victory, despite many inside and outside of the SEC pulling for the Rebels to advance past UGA.
