Due to daylight saving time in England, the “fall back” adjustment will take place this game week, meaning matches will kick off an hour later than in the previous round.
League leaders Arsenal have further
extended their lead at the top of the table, with Bournemouth now sitting second, four points behind.
Many expected Manchester City and Liverpool to remain close competitors, but both sides suffered defeats in GW9, leaving them six and seven points adrift, respectively.
Manchester City will host Bournemouth at the Etihad, while Tottenham face Chelsea in a heated London derby. Meanwhile, Sunderland and Manchester United will both look to climb further up the table, as Arsenal aim to extend their lead at the top.
FPL managers have some big decisions to make when it comes to selecting players for gameweek 10, and we have now put together a list of 10 players managers should consider.
Goalkeeper
Roefs (£4.6m, Sunderland vs Everton)
It’s a home fixture at the Stadium of Light, which makes £4.6m Roefs one of the top picks once again. Sunderland impressed even on the road in GW9, pulling off a 2–1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge — a result that further boosted confidence in their assets heading into this week.
Lammens (£5.0m, Nottm Forest vs Man Utd)
United have been in good form recently, and one key change compared to their earlier performances lies between the goalposts.
Their new goalkeeper has brought greater stability and confidence to the backline. The upcoming away fixture against Nottingham Forest could be a good opportunity for him to secure his second clean sheet of the season.
Defender
Calafiori (£5.8m, Burnley vs Arsenal)
Arsenal’s defence has been rock-solid this season, making all of their defenders sensible options in FPL. Although Saliba was substituted early in GW9, the Gunners are still expected to maintain their strong defensive form on their visit to Burnley.
Ballard (£4.6m, Sunderland vs Everton)
Another Sunderland player makes the list this week. Taking inspiration from Van de Ven’s recent goal against Everton’s fragile set-piece defence, Ballard, as Sunderland’s centre-back, could have a real chance to contribute in attack as well as in defence.
Tete (£4.5m, Fulham vs Wolves)
Tete returned in GW9, but unfortunately, Fulham still suffered a late defeat to Newcastle. They’ll have a good chance to end their losing streak this week when they host Wolves at Craven Cottage.
Midfielder
Mbeumo (£8.1m, Nottm Forest vs Man Utd)
With 3 goals and an assist in his last 3 matches, Mbeumo has finally settled into his role within the team, contributing consistently just as he did at Brentford.
Given Manchester United’s current form and his favourable upcoming fixtures, he could be a strong long-term investment for FPL managers.
Rogers (£6.8m, Liverpool vs Aston Villa)
Although Rogers didn’t find the net in GW9, he still played an important role in their impressive victory over Manchester City.
In GW10, they face another title contender currently struggling for form, giving Rogers another chance to continue his effective and influential performances.
Minteh (£6.0m, Brighton vs Leeds Utd)
Minteh has developed into a more complete winger this season. After their tough visit to Manchester United last game week, Brighton now face a run of relatively easier fixtures.
Minteh could be a strong candidate to consider if you’re planning to refresh your midfield options.
Forwards
Woltemade (£7.5m, West Ham vs Newcastle)
Woltemade has been in such impressive form that failing to score in GW9 almost felt like a goal drought. In GW10, he’ll face a defence that has conceded the most goals this season, giving him an excellent opportunity to get back on the scoresheet.
Gyokeres (£9.0m, Burnley vs Arsenal)
Gyökeres hasn’t been scoring much lately, but his impact on the pitch remains clear. Now a guaranteed starter for Arsenal, it feels only a matter of time before the goals start flowing again.
