Kentucky basketball native Jasper Johnson has shown potential in the exhibition against Purdue. Tuesday night against NC Central, he showed that potential in spades.
Coming off the bench and playing just 19 minutes, Johnson scored a career-high 22 points and led the Wildcats with a +/- of 30. In addition, Johnson was a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line and 6-of-10 from the field.
Johnson has not been afraid of the moment since the season began. He is among Kentucky’s leaders in assists and can shoot
from three-point range. His development is a key component this season for the Wildcats, especially for a team that’s younger than it was last season. Here’s a player whose growth will go a long way not only this season but also next season.
In addition, Johnson had two assists and two rebounds on Tuesday night. If he can come off the bench and deliver this kind of performance every game, this Kentucky team will be much better because of it.
With the potential he has, this may not be the only time we see this from Johnson this season.
