Having squeaked by third division opposition in the third round with the barest of bare minimum of efforts, Chelsea were placed in the hat for the final 16 of the this year’s Carabao Cup just the same
— a win’s a win, after all. And then we were one of the last ones to come out of said hat in tonight’s draw, getting a date against Wolverhampton Wanderers in next month’s fourth round.
Wolves have started the season quite badly and are still looking for their first points in the Premier League after five games, but they have managed to eliminate both West Ham United and Everton to get this far in this competition. Ah, the magic of the cup, or some such (it’s mostly a Premier League field now in this last 16, with only five lower-league sides remaining).
This match will be played away, the week of October 27. The exact date and time will be set soon.
