Bayern Munich are continuing to prepare for their upcoming fixtures without their head coach on the touchline, but there is encouraging news regarding Kompany’s recovery. Danks visited the Belgian yesterday and reported that he is in good spirits and appears to be improving each day.
“I paid a short visit to Vince yesterday, and he’s in good spirits. It looks like every day he’s getting better, so that’s really positive. There’s no major updates in terms of anything in terms of diagnosis or return
to work, nothing like that at the moment. He’s very calm, he’s letting recover, letting rest, letting take his time, so nothing changes there. We had some good conversations, but we kept it away from the football specifics, the tactics specifics. He asked how everything went, he asked how the players were, but apart from that it was just a friendly chat,” said Danks (via @iMiaSanMia).
There is still no new information regarding Kompany’s diagnosis or a potential return to work, with the focus remaining firmly on giving him the time and space needed to recover properly.
It is also telling that, even during a friendly conversation, Kompany wanted to know how the players were doing. Football is clearly never far from his mind, but right now, his health comes first.
