For years, fans of the Minnesota Vikings referred to the Seattle Seahawks as “Vikings West” because of the large number of Vikings players who seemed to end up making their way to the Pacific Northwest. Now, the migration is moving the other direction, as the purple have filled their front office vacancy with someone who helped to build the most recent Super Bowl champions.
Numerous sources, led by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, are reporting that the Vikings have agreed to terms with Seahawks’
assistant general manager Nolan Teasley to become their new GM, filling the vacancy created when the team fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in late January.
Teasley had been with the Seahawks since 2013 as an intern with the team’s scouting department. He then spent three seasons as a pro scout, was promoted to the role of assistant director of pro personnel, and spent just one year in that role before being promoted to the top director of pro personnel. He held that role until 2022, when the Seahawks gave him the title of assistant general manager, a capacity he had served in for the past four seasons.
It’s worth noting that Teasley was the only member of the final five candidates that the Vikings interviewed a second time. . .a list that included long-time Vikings’ personnel department member Rob Brzezinski, Buffalo Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray, Denver Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt, and Los Angeles Rams assistant GM John McKay. . .who did not have a direct connection to either the Vikings or to current Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell. Gray and Burkhardt both worked for the Vikings in some capacity earlier in their careers, while O’Connell was on the Rams’ coaching staff while McKay was in the Rams’ front office.
There hasn’t been any word yet on where this leaves Brzezinski, who has been with the Vikings since 1999 in various roles. He stepped in as the interim GM after Adofo-Mensah’s firing and helped to guide the team through the 2026 NFL Draft (along with O’Connell and Brian Flores, presumably). There have been some murmurings that he could be kept on in some sort of President of Football Operations Role, but obviously such a thing has not been finalized yet.
With training camp a couple of months away, Teasley is going to have to hit the ground running to get familiar with the Vikings roster. It’s going to be interesting to see how his vision of things meshes with what O’Connell and the rest of the Vikings’ front office and coaching staff have been envisioning for the team as they move forward into the 2026 NFL season.
Welcome to Minnesota, Nolan Teasley!
