Always an eventful time for Ohio State, spring football practice brings tons of headlines both on the field and off with recruiting opportunities. Ryan Day talking to the press this week, the coming weekend is yet again another major recruiting chance for the team.
With student appreciation day in the Woody coming up, this event is always filled with excitement and many times has been a day where the Buckeyes see the fruits of their labor pay off with top target recruits. Hoping for more of the same,
Ohio State has no shortage of news worth keeping tabs on.

Buckeyes offer 2028 Alabama native
Position coach Tyler Bowen is looking to sure up his 2027 class that already has three commitments, and the Buckeyes are also looking ahead to the 2028 class as well. A perfect example of wanting to get a head start on the future cycles, Ohio State offered offensive line prospect Joey Fleming earlier this week.
A 6-foot-5, 280 pound lineman out of Huntsville, Alabama, Fleming is not currently ranked via his 247Sports profile, but does check in as the No. 201 player nationally and 11th best interior lineman per Rivals. Nearly 20 offers to his name thus far, Ohio State joins an impressive list including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and a host of others.
With the programs showing interest it’s clear he’s one of the top players out there in the 2028 cycle and the Buckeyes now have the trigger pulled. Like any new offer, relationships have to be built to stand a real chance at earning the commitment and landing his offer from the Buckeyes while on campus is one way to really speed that process along.
Taking the trek to see Ohio State on his own dime before even being offered, there’s a level of interest there from Fleming and now the hope is it only continues to grow.
Four-star LB set to see Buckeyes this Saturday
Saturday looks to be another major recruiting opportunity for Ohio State. The annual student appreciation practice set to take place, this event is no stranger to seeing big time players make the trek for what is always an impressive environment.
On the list of many names, yesterday California native linebacker Landon Miller shared he is among the several others making the visit to see the Buckeyes in action. A 6-foot-2, 195 pound athlete, Miller is the No. 126 player nationally and ninth best linebacker in the 2028 class per the 247Sports Composite.
Out of the prestigious De La Salle prep program, Miller is no stranger to top competition, so the ranking certainly fits his profile. In addition though, Miller’s early offer list of Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Ohio State, and Oregon tells you he’s well on his way to racking up more of the same.
The Buckeyes already offering shows their level of interest and seeing him make the trek on his own dime reciprocates that notion. 2027 is obviously the priority, but looking to build a strong class in 2028 seems to be very much on Coach Laurinaitis’ radar and Miller is right at the top.
Five-star WR making return trip to Ohio State
Another major visitor set to see the Buckeyes, North Carolina native Braylon Clark is back in Columbus for an unofficial visit. A 6-foot-3, 190 pound receiver int he 2028 class, Clark is the No. 8 player nationally and third best receiver per the 247Sports Composite.
A five-star in every aspect of his game, seeing over 30 offers to his name makes total sense when you turn on the tape. Just a high school sophomore with two prep seasons under his belt, Braylon has one of the more polished skillsets you can find in his class regardless of position.
The size and strength you can’t teach, the route running and technical aspects to his game such as footwork and separation show why he’s ranked as highly as he is. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, and plenty of other top schools worth mentioning, Ohio State is certainly one to already offer.
From here, Cortez Hankton will look to make his time on campus more than worth it and being one of the best at his position for the class, the Buckeyes will look as well to make the visit an impactful one. Always in the mix for top receivers, all Clark will need to do is look at the current freshman class of receivers to see how he could be a fit.
