She’s stayed busy on the independent scene, wrestling in the United States, Canada, England, and Japan. Any But Nyla Rose, a former AEW Women’s World champion, hasn’t appeared on AEW television back in 2024 when Rampage still existed. She hasn’t been rotated to Ring of Honor, either. Rose’s last ROH match was two years ago, too.
The Native Beast has been on the interview circuit lately. That’s given us Nyla’s comments on the warning the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission issued to AEW after Nyla (who
is transgender) wrestled there in 2024. That was in a talk with Denise Salcedo, where she said of her AEW absence: “It is a little hard. It is a little frustrating.”
In another appearance, this one on Off The Rails with Jasmin St. Claire, the host joked that she would beat up AEW head honcho Tony Khan to get Rose back on television. Nyla responded:
“No. I genuinely don’t think it’s him. I genuinely, genuinely don’t think it’s him. You know how they say trust your gut. And this isn’t me just glazing him because he’s my boss or anything like that. It’s just there may be some things I can’t talk about or like things I can only speculate on, but in my heart of hearts, just the relationship that we have and like the conversations that we have, I don’t think it’s him.“
If we go with Rose’s heart, someone who could overrule the president and head booker of AEW is making the call to keep her off television. We’ve heard about Warner Bros Discovery executives having influence over who shows up on Dynamite or Collision, but Nyla doesn’t really fit the pattern there.
Any ideas about what Nyla Rose is hinting at here?
