Chloe Ricketts will sign with the Boston Legacy FC expansion team under a pre-contract agreement with the Washington Spirit, the Legacy announced on Wednesday morning.
The 18-year-old forward’s contract
runs through 2028 with a mutual option for 2029.
Ricketts will spend the remainder of the current season on a short-term contract with the Houston Dash after transferring from the Washington Spirit. The Spirit traded Ricketts to the Dash in exchange for $15k in transfer threshold funds.
Ricketts signed with the Spirit at just 15 years old, becoming the first player to join the NWSL through the under-18 entry mechanism in 2023. She has 30 appearances for the Spirit.
Ricketts also has Youth National Team experience and appeared for the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team at the CONCACAF Championships this year.
“At the age of 18, Chloe has already made 30 senior appearances at the professional level. Bringing youth national team experience, Chloe will add energy, versatility and creativity to our squad. As we look to build not only for 2026 but for the long term, Chloe will be a valuable addition to Boston Legacy FC,” said General Manager Domè Guasch.
