Like a lot of other folks, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl can see it — Luis Díaz has had a tough start to his 2026/27 campaign.
It did not get a ton better during Bayern Munich’s 2-1 victory over SV Elversberg on Sunday when the Colombian winger missed another scoring opportunity, but did at least show some good energy.
“What am I, as a defender who has never scored a goal, supposed to tell Lucho Díaz about how he can improve his finishing? Lucho doesn’t have the momentum at the moment.
He’s probably thinking, ‘Do I take it first time, or do I take another touch?’ And by then, the ball is already gone. At some point, his dry spell will end,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Eberl is likely correct — this dry spell will end soon enough. When it does, the Bavarians will likely look just as lethal as they did last season when Díaz was a complete menace for the opposition to deal with.
