The Kentucky Wildcats will return to the court Saturday as they open up SEC play in Tuscaloosa against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
It has been a long layoff for the Cats, as they last played Bellarmine on December
23rd at Rupp Arena. Luckily, that has been much needed with the injury bug biting in Lexington once again.
Heading into conference play, Mark Pope and his staff have been easing Jayden Quaintance back onto the court, and they have also been cautious with point guard Jaland Lowe. That is why tonight’s injury report was an important one to see where the team stood heading into tomorrow afternoon’s game.
For Kentucky, it appears that they should be all good to go, as no player has an injury designation heading into gameday.
For Alabama, it appears that point guard Labaron Philon will return to the court, as he’s listed as probable to play.
One of the top scorers in the SEC, the Cats will now have to really work to contain the star guard as the Tide goes, as he goes. Let’s hope a combination of Denzel Aberdeen and Otega Oweh can really lock him down in Tuscaloosa.
However, Alabama does have a couple of players listed as questionable in forward Taylor Bol Bowen and guard Davion Hannah. While Hannah is a reserve averaging 12.7 minutes per game, Bowen is a starter who averages 9.3 points (47.3% shooting and 32.6% from deep), 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
