Earlier this week, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff both made headlines for their bizarre reactions to the incredible main event match that Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega had at AEW All In last weekend.
In Flair’s case, he did his typical old man rambling on social media where he basically missed the entire point while talking up how great his feud with Ricky Steamboat was in comparison to Ospreay vs. Omega. Jim Ross, who was on commentary for some of those Flair vs. Steamboat matches, reacted to Ric’s rant
on his podcast by saying it was “out of place.”
Meanwhile, Bischoff had one of the dumbest takes I have ever seen in my life by saying Ospreay vs. Omega was like watching a Nasty Boys match. My brain hurts just typing that sentence out again.
The Nature Boy understandably didn’t like being mentioned in the same breath as Eric’s ridiculously stupid take on Ospreay vs. Omega, and he made sure to let everyone know about it a short while ago by clarifying his opinion.
“Please Don’t Put Me In The Same Category As Eric Bischoff @EBischoff! I Thoroughly Enjoyed The Match. I Know Both Kenny & Will And Have Sung Their Praises To Them Personally. I Have Nothing But Respect For Them. When I Tweeted This Yesterday, It’s Just An Opinion Like Every Other Sport And Watching Get Up Or First Take On ESPN. Doesn’t Mean It’s Right, Doesn’t Mean It’s Wrong. It’s Just An Opinion. Eric Should Just Focus On His New Amateur Wrestling Project. The Same Applies To Jim Ross @JRsBBQ And His Comments. If You Mention My Name, Of Course I Am Going To Respond.”
Good on Ric for doing what he can to separate himself from Bischoff’s stupidity, while reminding everyone that we’re all just assholes with opinions in the pro wrestling discourse. It’s just that nearly every other opinion I’ve seen is easier to defend than whatever garbage Bischoff is spewing about Ospreay vs. Omega.
What’s your reaction to Ric Flair distancing himself from Bischoff’s extremely bad take on Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
