Disaster has struck The Vision. Again. This time, it’s Logan Paul, who’s heading to the sidelines with a torn triceps.
When the news broke during Raw, Austin Theory seemed resigned to hand over their tag team championship. But when Paul Heyman told him that he would retain the titles with Bron Breakker filling in for Paul, Theory lit up.
Then Theory lit up Joe Hendry, who had the audacity to sing “Fire Logan Paul” shortly after the injury update. Given the situation, that was in poor taste, and Joe Hendry got
exactly what he deserved.
Theory then took out Angelo Dawkins, whose dive onto Paul at Saturday Night’s Main Event last weekend put Theory’s partner on the shelf.
“A switch flipped in Theory tonight,” cried Michael Cole as Theory stood over a fallen Dawkins.
Indeed, Theory showed an edge that fans hadn’t seen from him before. As a performer, he stepped up just when he and The Vision needed it most. Easily, this was the best he has looked since returning to WWE and aligning with The Vision last fall.
He even continued to give Maxxine Dupri the eye, a budding relationship that could prove fruitful.
Injuries suck, but the show goes on. And for the first time in his WWE career, Austin Theory seems ready to command a starring role.
