Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford has sent out a message after Sunday’s defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico left Hansi Flick’s side five points behind Los Blancos at the top of the table.
Rashford grabbed an assist in the game but couldn’t prevent the hosts from taking all three points at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He’s now sent a message to fans, making it clear there’s still a long way to go this season. He wrote on Instagram: “Clearly, not the result that we wanted yesterday. It’s a marathon not a sprint
and we will keep fighting!”
Rashford has done well for Barcelona in recent weeks but may come under pressure for a place in the starting XI as Flick starts to recover some of his injured players.
Robert Lewandowski is eyeing a return to the starting XI against Elche on Sunday, while Raphinha may not be too far away from full fitness.
Both players have been missed by the Catalans during their time on the sidelines and having them back available will be huge for Flick and Co.
