The Golden State Warriors are back in action after a four-day hiatus, opening their return with Friday night’s home matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game will tip off at 7:00 PM PT in San
Francisco and can be watched on NBA TV and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
The Warriors last played on Sunday, capping off a three-game road trip with a dominant 123–91 win over the Chicago Bulls. Jimmy Butler returned to the starting lineup and made an immediate impact, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Brandin Podziemski led Golden State in scoring with 21 points off the bench as the Warriors cruised to a stress-free road victory.
What to watch for tonight:
Golden State could be getting an even bigger boost to its rotation against Minnesota with the expected return of Stephen Curry. The Warriors’ superstar missed the past five games with a quad injury but is anticipated to be back in the lineup, just in time to help Golden State build momentum with a softer schedule lined up for the rest of December.
On the other side, the Timberwolves will be without their leading scorer, as Anthony Edwards has been ruled out for Friday’s game. While his absence should improve the Warriors’ chances, Golden State has made a habit of struggling against teams missing their star players. Head coach Steve Kerr even joked about the trend earlier this year after a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks playing without their star and two-time MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Hopefully, Curry’s return and the four days of rest gives them the extra boost they need to take care of business against the Timberwolves on Friday night.
