The Chargers got excellent news following Thursday’s win over the Vikings as safety Derwin James — who left the contest early with an ankle injury — was diagnosed with a low ankle sprain. He’s expected
to undergo an MRI on Friday and could very well miss little to know time depending on what they find.
With the Chargers coming off a Thursday Night Football win, the team gets a mini bye week before traveling to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans on the road. The Titans enter this week at 1-6 and if needed, the Chargers may feel as if James could miss that game to give him more rehab time before they host the Steelers at home the following week.
James is currently second on the team with 49 total tackles. He also has five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and an interception in what has been a well-rounded and productive season for the veteran.
