It’s official—Detroit Lions football is back. Myself and my good friend Meko Scott are back with another episode of our weekly game-preview podcast, “Before the Roar,” where we breakdown what fans should be looking for during the Lions’ first preseason game against the Cincinatti Bengals.
It’s been an eventful first two weeks of training camp, and for many of the players competing for jobs or roster spots, the game against the Bengals is much more than just another exhibition game. It’s a chance for some
to cement their status as cut-down day looms in the not-so-distant future. And while the majority of the core starters won’t even dress, there will be a handful of younger players that are out there for at least a few series—like Lions rookie right tackle Blake Miller, who coach Dan Campbell has already confirmed will see some action on Thursday night.
Other young players like second-year offensive lineman Miles Frazier and defensive end Ahmed Hassanein have a chance to build upon strong camp performances. On the defensive side of the ball, there will be plenty to watch, including how third-year cornerback Ennis Rakestraw looks when he is out there. For those of you that like watching podcasts in video-form, you can view the entire episode right here. You can also listen wherever you get your podcasts.
