It is always so important to put things into perspective.
12 months ago, at the time of writing, Lennart Karl was still smarting after Bayer Leverkusen’s U-19s knocked out Bayern Munich’s U-19’s in the semifinals of the U-19 Bundesliga. Now, he can not only pride himself on becoming on an important player for the Bavarians’ first team, but he can also celebrate making it into Germany’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The announcement of the squad on Thursday saw many young players, such as Saïd El Mala
and Tom Bischof, left out of the final 26-man roster. But Lennart Karl made it. He reacted with real joy on Instagram, writing the following message:
A dream comes true. I can play in the World Cup for my country. Thank you for all the support. Let’s goooo.
One must really congratulate the youngster for an incredible, meteoric rise that transcends all that anyone could have expected this season. Now the hope is that he can end such an incredibly successful season on a high note in the USA.
