New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown left the team’s season opener with the medical staff after injuring his right ankle. He is officially questionable to return.
The injury came on 3rd-and-4 on the Patriots opening drive of the second half, as Maye looked to Brown on a slant route. The low pass was broken up with a Seahawks defender seeming to land on the wide receiver’s ankle in the process. After acquiring medical attention on the field, Brown slowly walked off with trainers.
As the Patriots
drive continued, Brown stayed on the sideline and went into the blue medical tent.
The 29-year old receiver was off the a good start in his Patriots debut, recording three catches (two first downs) for 26 yards in the first-half. His biggest contribution was not seen in the stat sheet, as a drawn defensive pass interference near the goal line set up the Patriot first touchdown of the game.
