What’s better than keeping the best running back in college football? Keeping the best running back in college football and then landing a transfer portal stud at the position less than 24 hours later.
Former Missouri running back Marquise Davis, who took an official visit to U of L over the weekend, committed to the Cards Monday morning. He becomes Jeff Brohm’s third commitment of the current transfer portal cycle, joining Kentucky cornerback D.J. Waller and Ohio State quarterback Lincoln Kienholz.
As a true freshman in 2025, the former 4-star recruit tallied 34 carries for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns in four appearances. Davis maintained his redshirt, which means he arrives at Louisville with four seasons of eligibility remaining.
On3 ranks Davis as the 15th-best running back in this year’s transfer portal cycle.
With the return of Isaac Brown and the addition of Davis, I think it’s fairly safe to assume that we have likely seen the last of KeyJuan Brown at Louisville. While that stinks, a stable of Isaac Brown, Davis, Braxton Jennings, Jamarice Wilder and incoming freshman Lekhy Thompkins should work just fine.
