What is the story about?

Today, the Houston Astros announced they were promoting their #6 overall prospect, C/1B Jason Schiavone, from Double-A Corpus Christi to Triple-A Sugar Land.

The Astros’ No. 6-ranked prospect leads the organization in home runs (31), RBI (86), slugging percentage (.533) and total bases (219), while ranking second in OPS (.922), extra-base hits (54) and runs (83). He also ranks third in hits (103), fourth in walks (88) and fifth in doubles (23).

Schiavone earned back-to-back Astros Minor League Player

of the Month honors in April and May, batting .297 with 10 home runs, 23 RBI and 25 walks while posting a 1.165 OPS in May, which earned him a promotion from High-A Asheville to Double-A Corpus Christi. Schiavone currently has 29 stolen bases and 31 home runs across two levels this year, giving him a chance to be the first player in MiLB to have a 30/30 season this year.

The only other player in professional baseball to have a 30/30 season so far is Pete Crow-Armstrong with the Chicago Cubs (41 home runs, 35 stolen bases).
