The Arizona Cardinals have signed the anchor of their offensive line to a two-year extension, as the team announced that they have center Hjalte Froholdt to a contract through 2028.

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed center Hjalte Froholdt (YELL-duh / FRO-holt) to a two-year contract extension that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season. The signing took place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.
Froholdt (6-5, 310) is in his fourth season with the Cardinals and this is the second extension he has signed with the team. He previously signed a two-year extension with the Cardinals in August of 2024 after originally joining the team as an unrestricted free agent in 2023.
The 30-year old Froholdt started all 51 regular season games at center in his first three seasons (2023-25) in Arizona and was a team captain in 2025. He is the only player on the Cardinals roster to have started all 17 games each of the last three seasons. Froholdt joins Ted Karras (Cincinnati), Creed Humphrey (Kansas City) and Coleman Shelton (LA Rams) as the only players in the NFL to start all 51 regular season games at center between 2023-25.
Froholdt joined the Cardinals in 2023 as a free agent after previously playing with New England (2019-20) and Cleveland (2021-22). He entered the league with the Patriots as a fourth-round (118th overall) selection of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. In his NFL career, Froholdt has started 57-of-82 games played. A native of Svendborg, Denmark, Froholdt began playing football in the United States during his sophomore year of high school as a foreign exchange student in Warren, OH.
